Then Senator John F. Kennedy on The Jack Paar Show in 1960
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was a television series broadcast on NBC from 1964 to 1968. It follows the exploits of two secret agents, played by Robert Vaughn (left) and David McCallum, who work for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E.
Napoleon Solo (Vaughn) was originally slated to be the sole focus of the series, but a scene featuring a Russian agent named Illya Kuryakin (McCallum) drew enthusiasm from the show’s early fans, and the two agents were thenceforth permanently paired.
